MG Midget and Austin Healey Sprite Performance Camshafts

Camshaft selection can be as complicated as you like, but for the ultimate performance, even if that means best gas mileage, requires that you consider the entire envelope that the camshaft will work within. Non-technical issues such as intended application (street, race, milage or??), budget, expected RPM range, etc must be considered along with technical things like compression ratio, Cylinder head and valve sizes, exhaust system, carburetion, etc.

Question:
I saw your video on converting a rear seal to a lip type seal conversion on an A series engine with a rib case tranny. Can you do the same with a 948 engine with a smooth case tranny. Mine is leaking badly. My car is a 1961 midget MK1. Best regards, Chuck.
Answer:
Hi,
I think you can, look at the RIC775

thanks,
Ed

Thanks for the reply Ed. I’ll check that out. With a car that looks this good, (a 4 year restoration retirement project). See attached pics.  It’s embarrassing to go to town for gas or groceries leaving an oil pool behind! Best regards, Chuck.
