The forum's pic post feature stopped working with Safari a couple of months ago. Webmaster is aware of the problem. Best workaround is to download and use Chrome as your browser, if only for uploading pics.

No. Apparently it was in the thread that got pulled. Right to pull that thread. Too bad he signed off. Not right that he has. Maybe he will still get a notification of activity on this thread he started and read it.

Darren, When you ship by parcel post or express, the package gets a bar code which is read each time it passes through a machine or changes hands - the delivery person scans it when you sign for it. For larger truckload shipments, the truck or trailer has a GPS tracker that reports its location. Railway freight cars are now doing this too. Until he gets his trailer talking to the tracking computer, a tracking number won't be generated buy the system.

Thanks Dan ! That’s awesome, and much appreciated. I will definitely take you up on that kind offer. I hadn’t heard from the trucker who is to start my transport today and send me the tracking information, so thought “ Oh that just great. Anouther dissapointment... This was leaving me felling depressed, so I emailed James ( the trucker who is delivering my Mini ) and a few minutes ago he emailed me back. He’s in the process of loading my car right now, but is working on some glitch in the GPS system. Big relief. He said that as soon as he has the glitch worked out he will be contacting me with the tracking number. I suppose the two ( tracking and GPS are connected, so that I can check progress at any time without bothering James while he is driving ) are connected. So I’ll be putting that info up shortly. I’m going to start a new thread for it. So, releif afterall ( sigh ... ). I expect to send those pictures a week from tomorrow after I collect my Mini. What I journey this has been....

Al, it’s great to hear that you are still soaking up the rays in sunny, warm Florida. I for one would like to be there , hanging out with you. Anouther 10 days...that’s still a nice length of time left. I’m truly glad for you Al. Perhaps you’ll check the link I’ll be putting up later today and watch as my Mini makes it trip across much of this great country.

I was just interrupted by the delivery fellow. My first of 3 parts orders just arrived. A bit like Christmas day for big boys:-)

Take good care my friends, Darren.

Yes, sure thing Bill. Ive still got to figure out why I can’t post pictures with my iPad ( Debbie put up a few for me ) but maybe I’ll go to the public library tomorrow and see if I can have some lunch with a PC instead of my tablet. I’m also one of the guys who can’t get “ QUOTE “ to work. But I’ll get them up. Hopefully soon.

Later Bill.

BTW- I’m going to be posting the tracking link tomorrow for anyone who is curious ( me for one ! ) to see the progress as each day passes. Tomorrow it finally starts it trip east.

Hi Bill. That had to be pretty snotty weather for the bottle of brandy to freeze under the seat ! I never expected the wait to be anywhere near this long. I had the word that I would have the Mini in about 3 weeks after the money was transferred. I sent the money on Jan 9th , which will be one day shy of two months assuming the driver is on schedule. Head shake... But I couldn’t put a Mini through a typical Canuck winter. All the snow that falls, especially out west and through Quebec . And that’s without considering the cussed road salt. Munch munch on the mini...yikes ! So I think I have a right to a little wine. Maybe something even stronger...

Mike, that beauty V-tech is going to the Moncton area. Closer to me than you when I think about it. But at least it’s anouther one of the very few. I saw one mini ( the only local one that I know of ) last summer. And none for a few years before that. There was an immaculate 1963 850 with the magic wand shifter here, but I haven’t seen it in a few years, so it likely has been sold off of the Island. So that leaves two ( counting mine ) that I know of here. But the weekend of the Rustico British car show that happens every summer has Brit cars coming out of the woodwork. I’ll be participating in it this year. There must be about a hundred British cars on the Island on that weekend. Mayde you and your wife could come over for that one. We could park our minis side by side, and there are always a few that attend the show. Give it some thought....BTW- I’ve been up on Keswick Ridge, so I know pretty well where you are located. You can see for miles back towards Fredricton if I remember correctly.

Anyway, the tracking number will be up tomorrow for anyone who cares to watch my Mini come to papa. I’m sure it was interesting watching your mini cross the Atlantic Mike. I’ve ordered all the parts I plan to install this year, as well as a number of spare parts for safe road tripping this summer. She will have some nice bling added to it before long. All together I spent about 500£ on it ,but it is a keeper and and my only nice toy, so what the heck. I am expecting to have a lot of fun with the Mini this summer so it’s worth it too me. I’ve needed something like this to keep myself happy and occupied ever since I had to stop working. No regrets fellows, straight ahead !

Cheers fellow mini fans. Lupin says hello. So do I. Darren.

BTW- I have one for you Mike, considering where you live :

What did the doe say when she came out of the woods ?

That’s the last time I do that for two bucks !!

Darren, I'm up in the Mactaquac area, but not near the water. Up on pretty much the top of Keswick Ridge @ 660'ASL. so sometimes it's snowing here, but not in town (for real). I do work in Fredericton though. Spent most of my life in this area. Where is the VTEC Mini going to? Have never seen one in NB before. I haven't gone to many cars shows the past few years, but it's a very rare day when I see a Classic Mini in my area. AFAIK, there is only one diehard enthusiast that drives their Japanese spec Mini A LOT in my area, though others do come out from time to time. Dare I say it? A dying breed ! (whoops....inside voice Mike, inside voice) DOH ! ;-)

Yes, give her a wave Mike ! :-) I thought Fredricton was the worst place for flooding in New Brunswick. I used to travel to Fredericton often, and from Grand Lake northward up to Mactaquac used to flood most every spring. I remember seeing those big slanted things that they placed in the river to break the ice up but that usually kept the I’ve from moving downstream...head shake...

Aren’t you in that area ? I thought you were. I guess flooding could be a problem bellow Moncton towards Alma ? Just where the heck are you Mike ? I may have to visit you ( with the Mini ) so you can show me how to post pictures ... ;-)

Take care buddy ! BTW- I was talking to a New Brunswicker last week who is buying a beauty of a V-tech Mini from Alberta and transporting it home to NB. Our numbers creep up again . I’ll have that tracking number up in the morning.

Ill wave when I see it go by. I still have 3' of snow in most of my yard, but I live on a fairly high Ridge (for the area) and so the melt always takes longer for me even compared to Fredericton,NB

Exciting times!

Now about that tracking #......

Hockey, duct tape, women and Minis...now we’re talking ! I’m glad I found this site when I did. It pains me to have to tell you that the Mini is in Edmonton. But that is actually the plan. The car leaves for its cross county trip tomorrow...as planned. At that time I’ll be receiving the tracking number, and I’ll post it so any and all can watch it move closer and closer to PEI and me :-) I clearly have to admit that I never expected to wait this long when I sent the money west. It will be here in 8 days...Saturday, March 3rd. I’m pretty keen to start following the progress myself. But I think the effort will all be worth it when I’m buzzing around the rural twisters or cruising what is affectionately called “ dizzy block” in Charlottetown ! I’m pretty excited guys. Are you still taking in the rays and bikinis in Kissemmie Al ? I was just messaging with Don. He and his Mrs had a great week in Ottawa. That would be nice too; skating on the canal and watching the Olympics after the skating and dining. Good times all around !

Hope you fellows and ladies are all well, Darren and Lupin. BTW- there is more bare ground here than snow covered ground. Our second easy winter in a row. The most snow we got at one time this winter was 5 cm. The streets and sidewalks are bare ! Luving it ! And to soon be cruising in my Mini...well , it’s a been a dream for 38 years, since I owned the mk2 back in 1980. Grade 11. Owning a Mini has been at the top of my bucket list for over a year. Game on !
