Question:
I'm interested in this Classic Mini Moris kit from 1968. I want to ask about the things that need to be done there. Does this kit come complete with Mini Morris wiring? Is it necessary to modify the bodywork? Is the engine brand new? Can this kit be shipped to Europe?
Answer:
Fitting a VTEC is a totally custom job. The engines are not new but are used, low mileage engines (usually with 60,000 or fewer total miles). They have the water pump and timing chains replaced. We ship worldwide.

I would strongly suggest you research what it takes to install one of these kits. Check on the forums and ask questions first.

Question:
Is the K20 any harder or easier than the other series motors to fit? Less custom parts or not?
Answer:
The K series is a much more involved swap than the B Series as the size of it requires a custom extended nose for the Mini. It also uses a cable shift transmission, which can be easier but means a custom mounting solution for the shifter rather than re-using the old shifter. Wiring, Exhaust, Fuel supply all must be fabricated for both options.
The D-series requires the least amount of custom fabrication.

Question:
Do you have any kit for a Mini that would keep the honda front suspension parts (suspension arms, shock, coil, steering rack, half shaft, brake)?
Answer:
No, we do not have a kit that uses the honda suspension. There just simply isn't room for it under the front of the Mini.

Question:
I was wondering what your shipping capabilities are. I live in Guam which is a U.S Territory and I am looking at buying a classic mini to be driven quite often. I really hope it’s possible to order from your site!
Answer:
YES! We ship to Guam and as long as it's not too large or heavy to send via USPS that is the best way as it is considered U.S. Territory. Larger items ship via FedEx and they can be a bit expensive but we ship worldwide.

Question:
Does this come with everything you need to get the car on the track? I notice it doesn't include the shifter.
Answer:
This VTEC kit includes the most basic major components - subframe, suspension & drive, and engine.
there will be a few other things needed to complete the conversion such as fuel delivery, shifter and linkage, exhaust, wiring,  and fabrication.

Question:
Does this package include all the things that are needed to put in a mini or are there other things I need to add on?
Answer:
The kits are about as comprehensive as they can be - but you'll need to come up with exhaust, fuel, and other peripherals - things like shift mechanism that can either come from a stock acura, or K-tuned offers billet versions. People have done these many different ways, so a quick search on some forums for a build blog would probably give you the best idea of everything involved.

Question:
How do I fit this VTec kit to my 68 mini? Is there a full installation specification for me to follow? Do I have to have front body work flip up brackets etc? As I am doing a full resto and I am at the point now where i have everything fully stripped and the body is on my rotisserie, now is the time for me to make the decision on the VTec. I need help on what engine bay modifications before I send the body for sandblasting and undercoat. Do you have a video or manual on what to do? Regards, Vic
Answer:
These kits are designed for all the minis, 60s included - The K series installs are quite extensive - all the Honda engine kits require modifications to the inner fenders, exhaust, fuel system, shift mechanism, wiring, firewall, steering, brakes, ect. The K Series goes even a step beyond that requiring a longer front end, either using a fiberglass nose that is extended 4" like THIS ONE or something similar. The shops that do these sort of modifications spend about 100+ hours on these type of jobs. The best thing to do would be search around youtube or the mini forums for videos and blogs - the instructions included with the KIT are pretty general, leaving a lot of the fabrication up to you with regards to fuel and exhaust. You'll need a shifter sollution as well... I've seen KTuned parts, or factory Acura TSX shifters, ect. I haven't seen a lot of detailed videos on the K Series installs on youtube. But it's a very popular swap. you might give https://www.supercoopers.com/ or http://www.superfastminis.com a shout for some more details.

Question:
I’ve got a 75 Morris Mini 850 that had extensive body and paint work before I bought it, to include the original medal nose now tilts forward. It’s also RHD. 1. Will the MTK VTEC conversion package fit, or does the body need to be extended? 2. Also does being RHD require extra modifications? 3. To complete a project such as this what other parts are needed? 4. Is a JDM drivetrain, if so what’s the approx miles on one of these. 5. Is that the A/C compressor in the photo.
Answer:

The MTK does require the front end to be extended approximately 90mm.

  1. If you’re doing an MTK conversion, there are no RHD modifications required.
  2. I would suggest you look over the installation guide for the MTK Kit to give them a clear picture of what all is required. The MTK Engine Package is most of it.
  3. Yes, these are JDM drivetrains with an average of 50K Miles.
  4. The A/C compressor is normally not included but can be added.

Question:
I have a 1972 Leyland clubman panelvan in RHD. Will this package fit my mini and what else will I need for the installation? Can this be shipped to Australia?
Answer:
Sure!  We do it all the time.   Will ship it to your nearest port. Will work in RHD or LHD cars, but requires some modification to the firewall to clear the steering rack on RHD cars. Will not fit under the standard nose, needs to be extended.

Hope that helps.
