Yesterday, I changed one front Knuckle Boot on my mini. It's not that hard of a job but a real PITA. They were changed not too long ago. I switched to polyurethane boots. One lasted about two years or 11K miles. Now I am trying silicone boots from Japan. I will see how long these will last. Don't even think about the rubber ones, unless you are a masochist. The other front side is a poly which seems to be holding up. I'll get to changing the other ones when they fail but for now I'll leave well enough alone.
