Spare just sat loose in the trunk, early Mini's had a center tie down bolt.
Gas tank should be satin or gloss black not sure but i think satin. There should be a battery cover with a metal hold down strap on the battery and a rubber hold down strap on the cover. The jack bag was black plastic with a yellow tie strap and consisted of a jack, handle and i believe a hub cap removal tool and it all just sat loose in the trunk too. The whole trunk had a flimsy rubber/plastic flexible carpet covering the spare tire and battery.

Just curious if this would be a stock item on the car?
Also wondering if anyone has photos of how the boot looks from factory, how the spare was mounted etc, fuel tank painted black? redoing the truck and want to make it period correct, searched but can't seem to find photos.

What you have is not a Cooper however

"WET COOPER", Partsguy1 (Terry Snell of Penticton BC ) - Could you send the money for the unpaid parts and court fees.

Stock rims would be 3.5 x 10 steel wheels with the hubcaps you have but most people upgrade the wheels on Mini's and it is easy to convert back. If you decide to install discs you need the S offset wheels or you will need fender flares.
Badges i will look up and get back to you, the front is a shield looking one that says Mini and the rear is an oblong black and silver one that says Mini 1000.
Our host does not seem to have the front one but Minisport does it is part number CZH1269.
The rear one is similar to the one our host carries CZH3815 but without the L (Leyland) at the front of it.
Most badges and emblems were just like the wheels and changed around over the years and a lot of the original stuff got thrown away unfortunately.

L - 998cc
2 - 2dr
S - sedan
I - round nose
N - year?
I am guessing late 70's.
178405 is the sequential production number
A is the assembly plant which is Longbridge UK.
So what you have is an Mini 100 2dr not a Mini Cooper.
