There's a shop in Old Saybrook, CT that works on LBC's.  A surf Woody that I sold years ago wound up there, when the wealthy 2nd home owners tired of it.  It' on the road to the DMV office.  "Carmody and Daughters" is the name I think.

I lived in Norwalk for about 30 years, then moved to North Carolina 12 years ago. Used to know everyone in your area (even started Mini owners of CT) but now am out of touch.
You could always try Automotive Restorations in Stratford. They'd be pricey but quality work. A smaller shop is probably what you'd be looking for. They may be able to help you find someone. Several high end restoration shops in Fairfield County, but never enough regular garage work guys who like Minis. There was a guy in Norwalk, right near the hospital. Search around your area for small garage shops and ask around.

I do not know if Bob would be willing to do it, but while not CT he is close and is a fabulous mechanic…Briarcliff Classic and Imported Cars…(914) 762-1200…would be worth a phone call at least to find out.

I'm looking for a shop that can take a 1275 engine from a 1987 Mini, do a minor performance upgrade, and swap it into my 1976 Mini 1000. I'm in southwest CT. Recommendations? Thanks in advance.
