Thanks Croc. I tried all the usual sources for the nut in US and nobody seems to have them in stock. My research shows its the same nut used on pre 67 MGB which may open up the options

Amazon sells a tap and die set in the size that you need for about $20.  5/8"x 28.  Might be a cheaper and quicker alternative.  Or if our host doesn't have them in stock and you can't find one locally, there is always Mini Spares for about $6 plus shipping.

I got a 1990 Mini Mayfair (non air bag). It seems the thread on the end of the steering column that the steering wheel retention 1 5/16 nut screws on is a little distorted. Can anybody advise me what size dye I would need? It looks about 5/8". Thanks,
Steve
