Other good sources are: the auto mini register
AP2.World for parts, tools and rebuild kits
Also, Wild Child Classic Cars in Tempe, Arizona services automatics and lists reconditioned automatic transmissions on their website.

Try Boot to Bonnet in Woodland, California. I know Nic has done a few automatic boxes and I believe he drives one in his Clubman estate.

You say the car works fine so what are you worrying about.

They need an oil change every 3000 miles or annually, whichever is first.

They can be rebuilt, you just need to find someone with the skills to do it.

Not so easy in the US maybe.

Car engines make CO2 and trees absorb CO2. By running your engine you're feeding a tree and helping the environment.

I was researching that and it seems very involved, I would need to buy a different trans, an engine, a pedal box, and not sure about the sub frame but even with out it I'm thinking if the trans is not repairable I would be money ahead to just buy a manual trans car and sell the automatic car,  By the way if anyone has a manual trans car for sale or the parts needed to convert let me know, I'm in southern California, so is that true then that the auto trans cant be rebuilt?

I suggest you get out and just enjoy driving the car.

Drive it 'til the auto box breaks and then consider converting to manual.

I bought an automatic trans car about a year ago and was told by a specialty mini cooper shop that they are not repairable, he said you cant really find parts or people who know how to rebuild them, is this true? I basically parked the car out of disappointment but I want to drive and enjoy it, if it beaks i want to be able to get it fixed or should i just sell it while it still works fine and look for a manual trans car?
