When I was saying go the other way, I meant the mini would be in the mark 5 or 6 range.

Mine is one of the now few original mini's sold by the manufacturer in the USA, they were Left hand drive. Right hand drive is great fun as a passenger with a loose steering wheel but that's about it for me.

Agreed, I would have kept it as RHD if it was sold that way, but it had already been converted here in the states before I got it...

OK, so how about an MKII Japanese spec modified to LHD from RHD? It came with A/C, and round mirrors near the headlights up front.

FYI..... an 87 isn't a MkIII.

- Fairly easy, maybe. I just did a steering rack swap on my car it can be done. If you’re looking for some new steering control arms let me know I’ve still got a pair left that I didn’t use from mini mania sell them at half the price

Engine could care less. Should be a fairly easy straight swap.

Can a 1275 engine from an 87 LHD (MKIII from Japan) be transplanted into a 76 RHD Mini 1000?
