I presume your 2007 Cooper S is a gen2 hardtop and not the gen1 convertible..
It is 'possible' that the body module went bad, but it would be highly unusual for it to fail from sitting a couple months...
For starters, I would check the following:
Check the spark plugs to see if it is wet from fuel (checking fuel delivery)
Check the spark plugs to see if they are firing.

Did you replace the fuel, or did you add stabilizer to the gas - otherwise it gets stale and hard to burn.
.

Parked my sons Mini several months ago. Battery died, replaced the battery. Now it will turn turn over, starter spins, but will not start. I do have ISTA+P. I did get the DME realigned but don’t see the GM on the tree. Could the GM aka body module be bad?thanks in advance y’all
