When I boxed the sills, I thought that someone would stand on them, maybe crushing them or putting a small or major dent.  The answer is yes, I did reinforce them with 1/8 x 1 inch band iron under the horizontal parts with uprights. And I welded T- nuts in place for grab handles for the passengers. None for the driver. Will post pics later.

Also I rounded all the edges inside and out. I tacked the pieces together, some as long as 5 feet. Then cut off the hard right angle edges, inserted shaped and formed 5/32 welding rods and mig them to the two sides working from end to end. This way I had plenty of material to round the edges. I heavily rounded the vertical parts than the horizontal parts just to vary the look.

Going to be a fun build to watch.

Did you add any strengthening in the sill area?

This is my first posting. Stayed true to the basic shape of 1960's beach cars with the shark fin but raised it keep the shoulder belts. I did make my own design for the "A" "B" "C" areas. Mine are more sculpted. I did not like the plain straight lines of the 1960s mini beach cars. On the "B" pillar, I kept the upper door post to come down from the roof line and meet down with the shark fin. The "B" pillar now houses a 5.25" speaker and the seat belt reel. More photos to come.
