As John said, if you bought XR700-231 it should fit. I is supposed to fit many different make and model distributors.
Those little spring fingers on the inside of the interrupter rest on the "flats" of the 4-lobe cam.

Yes, Sir, That is the proper part number. The top of my shaft is rounds for the rotor but after half an inch, it turns to a square where the points bounce open and close. Please take a look at my profile photo. (sorry, it was the only way I knew how to post a pic! )

Stupid question but I can't see it on any board. The Crane "shutter" (round) does not fit my shaft (square).
