Engine and trans are spoken for.  All that is left from this post is the exhaust.

See my other post for other free bits:

Is the engine still available? I have a Mini that could use it.

Tim has dibs on the intake, the carb, and the air filter and a bunch of odds and ends we talked about over the phone.  Enjoy.

The Header and Exhaust are still available if anyone wants them.  Otherwise they will go in the recycling next week.

Hi Joe, Tim here in Farmington mi, I am interested in the air filter, carb and the intake manifold and can pick up. I would like to respect the MI ban on unnecessary contact/travel if you can wait for that to expire, or do a curb Side pickup based on your timing. Call me at two four 8 388 ate four 75

best regards
Tim

I swapped the 998 in my 1978 mini for a 1275 and now have a bunch of stuff I have no use for.

The engine ran fine when pulled, the trans synchos were pretty bad, with 2nd being the worst.  If you shifted slow it was fine, but anything brisk would crunch, especially on the 1-2.  I once had a larger than normal bit of metal come out when changing the oil, but things seemed to run fine.  Basically the engine / trans would need a total rebuild, and if you are going to do that, you might as well start with an A+ which is what I did.

My original plan was to give the engine to a buddy and have his young son disassemble it to learn what was inside.  If no one has a real use for the engine / trans I will do that.  But I am also willing to give it to someone that is going to use it in a mini.

Although I don't think anyone will want the engine, there were also a bunch of parts:
Adjustable upper engine steady that attaches to the thermostat housing.  (It is just 2 brackets one for the firewall, one for the thermostat, a piece of threaded rod and some rubber bits / washers.)

Non adjustable upper engine steady that attaches from the head to the firewall.  I replaced it with an adjustable one.  Just the dogbone part, the rubber bits were trashed so I threw them out.

A basically complete LCB Header / RC40 2 box exhaust.  It didn't leak, but I replaced the stuff with new when I did the swap.  You will need to buy a new collector for in-between the header and the exhaust as I got tired of D***ing around with the clamped section and just cut it.  You will also need new hangers as some were broken.

Carb - a side bowl SU.  Probably whatever was stock on the 998, but I don't know the model.  If there is a measurement I should take let me know.

Throttle cable for a RHD side bowl SU.  The 1275 had a different carb that needed a different cable

Intake manifold - It looks like an aftermarket stage 1 unit, but I don't know.  The coolant hose connection has corrosion, but I don't know anyone that hooks that up anyway.

I am located in Milford, MI 48380.  All parts are free.  I don't feel like shipping anything, so if interested and can pick up. let me know.
