Yes, the Bentley manual is probably the best printed manual for the new MINI.....

Depending on the year of your Mini/engine it may not have a tensioner.

While it's possible to change the timing chain with the engine in-situ, I'm not sure I'd recommend it.

Changing the tensioner is a doddle, but getting the timing gears off and back on again in the correct place without having direct line of sight would be a nightmare.

While you have the timing cover removed, make sure that the holes for the attachment hardware haven't been 'dimpled' by over tightening the bolts.  You need a nice flat mating surface otherwise it'll leak.

None are perfect, but see the two Haynes manuals. Part numbers 525 or 646 depending upon your car.
