Good idea to drain the coolant first. At least all out of the head but consider it a good time to replace it all. Its cheap enough.

I'd remove spark plugs, remove the rocker pedestal nuts or bolts, remove the old rockers, fit new, replace nuts or bolts to rocker pedestal, torque down, then do the rocker clearances with feeler gauge, then refit spark plugs.

You *can* if you're very careful, and drain all the coolant out first.

No.... but I removed mine (warning!! they don't like to be revved over 10K 8-0)..  by just loosening all the bolts, removing the ones on the rocker posts, pulling off the rollers and ..... dropping their replacements in place.

Installation is.....

Hasn't caused any problems in the years following the operation...

Cheers, Ian

Have picked up set of 1.5 ratio roller rockers for my 1.3i. Has anyone installed same without removing the head - just removing the head nuts on the rocker pedestals? My usually cautious attitude tells me to remove the head and re-install with new rockers. Thanks.
