good question, The fuel has been in the car for at least two months.. I did find TWO fuel filters on the car. One is new, up by the carbs. I was wondering about a bad, but inconsistent plug wire?

I have been working on a friends car. It has a 1275cc engine with PERTRONIx . We had to replace the head gasket, and we found other issues in the process. Complete valve job on head, with resurfacing Carburetors , twin H4. float bowls were loose on both , probably sucking extra air. tighten those up which resulted in large changes to the fuel mixture and idle screws. I pulled two spark plugs and they both look perfect for fuel burn.
Car runs great now, idles at about 600rpm. But the owner says that the car coughs once in a while. IE: once in a 30 min drive. I can't decide if this is a fuel issue or an electrical issue. Can you give me ideas ?? thanks
