I made my sliders on my pick up removable and just left them out in the Summer months, not the best solution but a whole lot cheaper than Aussie doors.
I think it would be easier to adapt MK III inner shells to the earlier MK I door frames than to fit later doors.
Fake external door hinges are available in Japan.

Just my opinion ..but I wouldn't consider driving any time and distance at speed without windows..
Cheers, Ian
The sliding windows were stored in the door pockets if I needed to re fit them but i never felt the need to.
I am not sure how Richard adapted the upper window frame to fit the opening it looked correct when done he may chime in here.

They are hard to find and expensive when you do. I have a pair I'm considering putting on my pup. I drove it with sliders last summer and it wasn't actually too bad. I'm going to drive it one more summer before deciding whether to use them or not.
I bought them all the way back in 2006.

CatchMe78.. roll up windows are NICE.. as I am also doing a pick up. project now.. but just NOT going to spend the money for OZ doors.. I had bought four OZ mokes via friend of skip summers. about 12 years ago. and he stuck couple sets of MK 1 doors along with the deal..

I found the story of his doors, MK4 or 5 doors, he widened the cab and changed the fenders as part of his process to get the doors to fit.

Hi, I have a pickup project going on, and was wondering if anyone has any leads leads on MK1 Australian doors in the US, or any good options for MK1 original doors such as removable glass as the pickup will be a fair weather vehicle anyways. I appreciate any leads or suggestions.
