Have you tried getting oil pressure with a starter motor. You say you know nothing about the unit. A compression test and a leak down test should be done to determine what else you may need. I have rebuilt many of the A+ 1275 s with the DAM 5626 trannys and three or four suffered from bad first and third motion ball bearings. Three were bad enough that the tranny cases were no longer usable. The duel element ball bearings split the outer race and chewed up the cases. If you like contact me info in profile and I'll try to explain how to check for bad tranny bearings. I may be able to help with your parts list. Steve (CTR)

Onetim shoot me an email.     I'm in New York. I need the starter with solenoid sitting on the starter. The short clutch arm, push rod, bracket for the slave cylinder to sit on and all the nuts & bolts. I'm putting an order together now.

What other motor parts do you have? I also need alot of parts at the other end of the motor to hold the radiator and engine mount.

My 89 A+1275 was also red of a type you can’t get off. I don’t know your location , but I have the starter, and complete veto clutch, from wok cover to flywheel in really nice condition. No fun to ship this stuff.

A lot of what you're asking is dependent on what it's going to be installed into.

also  = is it a 1275 or a 998 A+???     ( is the heater tap on the head Straight with the head, or at an angle?)

A+'s most all came with verto clutches= so you know you have that.  More than likely has a rather low CWP differentail ratio.  Just fine too!

Any alternator will hang on it for your application = buy the amperage you want.
Probably used a 59D Distributor ( Has wide tangs for the dist drive in the motor) not Narrow like a Pre a+

Hi All. I bought a mini lump. I don't know a thing about it which is the reason for this post. What I do know is the valve cover has a sticker with A+, engine color is red and the tranny has DAM 5626.

I think it is a later A+ motor. I'm going to have this motor and trans rebuilt so I will know what I have.

I need many parts for this motor. If any one has some good parts please email me. Jim  [email protected]

I need the following (or if you can recommend certain parts you like ie electronic distributor, cast iron manifold or header)

Stater motor
Hi amp alternator
Electronic distributor
fuel pump
exhaust manifold (cast iron - the good one) and down pipe
oil filter mounting housing
Rad side motor mount bracket and bolts
radiator bracket which mounts to the motor mount bracket and bolts
verto clutch bracket, arm, bolts
thermostat housing and sandwich plate
engine steady bracket

Thanks alot for your input. Jim
