I don't think so. It comes up in Heritage records as shipped to Birmingham and then is registered like a month later in Malta. Haven't been able to figure out did someone from Malta buy it and have it shipped, or did that dealer sell in Malta or what.

does anyone have any advice or examples they can offer of successful registration of a Moke with Florida DMV ?

many thanks

Hello everyone,,
The original poster OWNED the Moke in Portugal, so you would think it would be straightforward getting it Titled in Orange County. Obviously he will have all his Import Clearance documents, and I would assume he has got it Vin Verified. In theory he could then apply for a Title, without proof of insurance, so long as he isn't using it on the road.
However, speaking from my own limited experience, and to quote a far more experienced licensed Dealer.."the average clerk at the Orlando DMV, and County Tax Offices, are total morons".  I have Titled a few Minis over the years down in Broward County, and it was a pleasant experience.

FloridaScot..  let me guess. the PHAT lady behind the counter. in Orlando.. told you  a MINI MOKE is NOT legal on the highway..  and you told her you know of other mini mokes registered in Florida.. and then she went NUTS.. saying she would CANCEL all the registrations on ANY moke in Florida??   I had same problem with customer in NJ.  last year.  took me six MONTHS to get a NJ title and safety inspection.. I actually had to get letter from Chief Legal Counsel at NHTSA to say ALL mokes over 25 years and old are EXEMPT from DOT and EPA regs..  and I had get one for BiG Al one time.. about  RHD being able to import from Canada to the USA..   just go to another tag office.. later bc

I totally recommend Sevilla (my home town). Now is the best time of the year to visit. If you can, visit some of the small towns nearby. You will still find a lot of 'classic' cars being driven daily, cheers Abel

Hi Tom, Hope you have your Moke fiasco sorted out now?  Curiosity, where were you in Portugal?
I'm heading off to Albufeira later this month, and I clocked an EscortMk1 on the way to Faro Airport last
time I was there. Wouldn't mind looking for any old Minis, or Mokes while we are there. Any ideas? Jim
