Sounds like you haven't got it back together again properly - jack it back up check that the pot joint is seated fully into the gearbox, the CV joint is not loose on the drivehaft splines, and the drive flange & nut are torqued correctly.

Hello, just changed the 2 rubber boots on passenger side, (left hand drive) drive shaft, I didn't test drive. Got it out today and when I try to accelerate in 1st gear or reverse I get a tremendous noise and vibration from the engine area (car doesn't seen to accelerate) it sounds and felt like the gears were slipping on each other. have any of you had the same experience and what was your fix. Many thanks. 65 mini cooper. A+ engine
