If the MINI was serviced at the MINI dealership, they should be able to tell you exactly what parts were replaced under warranty.  Any MINI dealer can look up the service history whether they or another MINI dealer did the work....

It is not unusual that a MINI has service performed under warranty.  If the MINI you are looking at has the MINI factory warranty in effect, you should be okay.  If you have concerns, perhaps you can negotiate an extension of the warranty....

dido what Mini Mike said..  and also BEWARE of odometer fraud..  because  states like South Carolina have NO safety or Emissions for years..  also  watch for states like CO and WV.. as they do NOT have branded titles like salvage or FLOOD..  also florida has COD..  on some cars with over 24 % damage.. later bc

i don't like to purchase vehicles with rebuilt engines or transmissions. Especially the late model stuff. Who did the repairs? And did they know what they were doing?

A factory built part is built to specs. Who did what in a rebuild is open for discussion.  And I'm not sure an intake wears out, but I"m not a bini enthusiast either.

My take is if you have the $$, keep shopping for something that was not opened up yet.

And only repairs reported to carfax will show up on a carfax. If it was done in your back yard, or an independent shop and you didn't call it in, it's not in the report.

Same with collision work. If the insurance co. was not notified, (no claim), you'd never know from viewing a car fax report.

Hi
I am looking to purchase a 2015 Mini Cooper Convertible and Carfax states intake manifold replaced however the dealer gave me the warranty claims for the same date and it is not mentioned at all. There are also repairs on the warranty claim but not on carfax.

It all states later as repaired.  Would an intake manifold replacement give cause not to buy the vehicle?

I am a bit lost.

Thank you for any advice.
