Rare S parts should be kept close to home so lesson learned.
Yes he can do good work and thieving is not nice.

Another Man completed the task in 16 months.
As for his better half said he can piss off a group of hundred people without even opening his mouth.

Just glad to be over it.

I'm British and wouldn't call Steve a puddinghead.  Far from it in fact.  Honest in all our dealings and not stupic as your half-arsed insult would imply..

I suppose I've been absent for a bit. But I won't stand for anybody bad mouthing the man that made my Mini the sweet dependable driver it is today. I've never been disappointed with Steve, his work, his quality, and most of all his pricing. Living just a 20 minute drive away is also a great perk. I just hope he keeps going to at least a hundred.

This reminded me I have not seen the Cooper Intake Manifold thread in a long time.

One page of the thread says the 179 was 1.5", another says it was the 1071 S manifold, which I thought had 1 1/4" carbs stock.  So maybe there were a few oddballs, two different size but marked the same.  Seems like a topic for a new thread, or resurrecting the old one...

I'm sorry you guys have to be exposed to this. Seems after a couple more years of dragging his feet Scott is making progress. He called sunday morning while I was under a customer mini, from a phone number not in my directory. Just like the robo calls he left a message. Seems he thinks I kept his 179 intake and gave him one of mine. His reasoning is that the manifold is bored at carb face for 1 1/2 carb not the 1 1/4 he expected. So in his emotionally troubled mind I must have stolen his intake for some unknown reason. Thing is all 179 intakes are bored for 1 1/2 at carb face. Once again he feels the need to attack me without reason. Well in his mind there must be a reason.

As it is clear there is no reason for me to talk with of email this guy. He has contacted everyone who will listen to him, running me down.  I did text him a pic of the other 179 intake to show they are the same. I don't expect he will apologize. Thanks for the honest replies. Steve (CTR)

Perspective and progress would a plus.

I happy for yourself but mine was much less than expected.
My parts shifted and lost and won't answer calls and e-mails.
Rare parts lost live and learn I suppose.
Just a heads up;(

Steve,  I emailed you a short while ago after I was at Mini Meet East in New Paltz; did not get a reply.  Did you receive it?
