How the heck do you get the hitch pin in? only the opening of the rcvr comes thru the bumper.

The Muffler is right under the hitch behind the cowling so reachin under to put the pin and retention clip in would result in burnt hands if possible at all?

Thinking of installing this on a 016 Countryman JCW, which has even a larger rear tuck on the cowling.

(If I get it, I plan on cutting a large window behind the tag so I can reach thru that hole and insert the hitch pin.)

Great idea (hiding it) but functionablility?? WTF??

The exhaust tips on the Countryman exits along the sides, so there should be no issue with 'burnt hands'.

Yes, you will need to reach under the bumper to access the receiver so you can insert the pin. After the first time locating and installing the pin, you should be able to do this without looking underneath.

I hope this helps.

Ken
