Another week of winter. We are getting our share of the ice storm, so no Mini-ing any time soon. Watched the snow plow/sanding truck almost spin out on the turning circle of our cul-de-sac. Looks more like a skid pad today. The trees around our house are currently dropping ice-cube- sized chunks of ice and branches everywhere. Couldn't even get to the garage if I wanted to.

It is quite a nice car to drive.

10+cm of snow is expected tonight starting at 3:00 a.m. I do not expect to drive the mini tomorrow.
Slammed 72 km on the mini yesterday. 2 cm of snow has already fallen, the mini will stay garaged for a week.

Interesting binnacle and tach. I think I like it.

The binnacle is a prototype DSN RetroSport one that never made it into production.  They do make other 3-clock dashes, just not like this one.

The rev counter is a Smiths one, and is very useful for sellotaping a camera to - the video from Monza was a normal compact camera taped to it !

Nope. Got to watch the snow plow go by dropping more salt on the road.

I guess so, drove CTR-ALEX like most days, drove a yellow mayfair and a red rallye rep. The little 998 mayfair gives very good mileage and is willing at 70 mph all day. New or newly rebuilt everything under. Fully adjustable on car, hi lo s springs. Adjustable shocks, only thing hurting is old tires. I'm thinking they have gone square from sitting. OK here's a question, it has 30 th. flares and 5x12 alloys the current 145 s don't fill the flares but do everything a 998 needs. Buying new tires the option of 165 s on 5's filling the flares will most likely reduce MPG and maybe MPH. But there won't be many turns you can't take as fast as you can get it to go.

165s or 145s what did you drive on? Steve (CTR)

I drove mine to work this morning, around town to find parts for the Renault, and then put it to bed in my garage to get the afternoon flight. It will have to rest for a while til I get back.

The car has passed the out of province pending I repair one rear brake piston that was leaking slightly. Calgary and the snow is starting to clear up, I figure by mid next week the mini might make it out. Running way to rich though 13.5 on the wideband just varying it between 2000 and 5000 RPM from the garage onto the driveway and back in. Thats as far as I can safely drive it without salting it right up. Going to see if I cant get a tune booked for April. Weather is hitting plus temps everyday though so I am getting happier.

Todd, which means Fox in Scottish dialect.  Just be glad you are on the other side of the country from me.
You are a COWARD, hiding behind a screename.  Its highly unlikely we will ever meet, which is good news for you. Ive never punched a Wimp in my life, but I'd make an exception for you.  DILLIGAF ya Bampot!
