Yesterday was beautiful weather and the result was 15 minis on a 150 mile trip around Hood Canal with a stop for lunch.  Great day.

Took Morris to Publix- $290/7 big bags and TP (we've been out of town for while and cleaned out everything before leaving). It all fit nicely.

Kudos to the RHD Dark Blue Mini (Mk III?)  we saw in Asheville Saturday.  Glad I wasn't dealing with getting started on that incline (Flint St) when the light changed......

Took an Elf to breakfast.  Maybe 8 miles there and back.  Plugs had been looking rich, I mostly have been just firing it up and moving it and out of the garage, letting it idle.  So I leaned it maybe half a turn, seemed to run OK with a little roughness.  At the last turn before the restaurant, a Smart car was sitting at the light so I bombed through the right-on-red and revved the snot out of it, then when I decelerated it popped a huge Kapow backfire (never did that before).  Maybe it does not like Smart cars.  Parked it next to a vintage 911 and later we were standing around telling lies, a nice young lady came by and asked if she could take pictures and the 911 guy said sure, and she said no, not that, the little one...

Had to run over to Salem, about 30 miles.  Took the Mini because she likes stretching her gears.  I normally go about 62 mph since that's 3900 rpm.  Picked up some gas at Costco.  Had all the windows open as we've been in the mid 80's here for the last couple weeks.

Talked to Jeremy at Jet Motors also.  We've scheduled the Mini into his shop next week to replace the 3.4 rear drive with a 3.1.  Then I can drive on the freeway without being stuck in the truck lane.

FINALLY!
After a summer too hot for my health (and just about anything else), followed by rainy weather mixed with too many commitments, I got to drive the mini today. Okay, it was just around the neighbourhood for about 15 minutes, but it WAS a Mini drive. Only stalled once and that was because I let the choke off too soon.

T-shirt (Candian style) here today, but still too much salt water on the roads. Snow banks containing salt and road sand are melting and the melt-water runs across the road, resulting in dirty road spray.

NO Mini driving, but the itch IS growing.

60F here in VA. Somehow the mini sounds even sweeter at this temp. Got a low five from a  motorcyclist coming the other way on a twisty two lane road. A very common occurrence only when driving the mini.  They appreciate the size.

Yes, did drive the Mini today on 24th December. Living in a snow area where I do not drive for Ice Cream but for " GLÜHWEIN", hot red wine with spices. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from Austria.

Greetings from the Austrian Mountains to all classic car lovers

Went to Eats and Treats for Ice Cream.  Got more attention then the death star lexus SUV next to me.  Last week's fixes seem to have eliminated two bad noises and the water temp is behaving...... Bennett's and Apple Fritters tomorrow....

Drove the Moke about 450 miles at the CMU event and just did another 400 plus miles at the Moken around Florida event.

If in doubt, flat out. Colin Mc Rae MBE 1968-2007.
