Jack,

I bought some Stainless Steel flat 1" rod. I'm going to spend the night in the garage trying to make something happen here. My plan is to make sort of a sandwich plate for the front bracket bolt out of the SS rod. I haven't had time to really drill down a design, but I've gotta do something. I was originally going to get a full carbon bonnet, but I would hate to get it and have the same issue.

Mty Mous, I have the same problem with an after-market hood.  Let me know if you come up with a soultion.  I was thinking of cutting off part of the bracket on the original (ruined) hood and welding it to the front of the bracket on the new one.  But I'm not sure if it would be strong enoungh.

Jack

Yup.
The DSN Clubman hinges took two or three goes before they fitted properly.  Each time we tried them and sent them back for fettling, Suzy swore she'd never change a bonnet hinge again...

Well, I went and spent the evening firring my hinges last night because of all the fuss on here. Mine fit just fine. In fact, the bonnet fits exactly the same way as it did with the factory hinges. My issue is that my aftermarket bonnet doesn't fit quite right. The whole thing is about 14mm too far forward. I think it's going to have to be modified somehow to make it work.

Jerry,

I'll take the hinges for the round nose if you still have them.  Let me know your payment preference.

I installed mine in March with no problems. They work as advertised.

Mine have got Clubman etched onto them, but I don't see any roundnose holes.

Yes, mine are the clubman set.

However the set I have have additional holes for "saloon". So I'm not sure if they're different

Alex, Dartfork's hinges look to be the clubman set. He also has the gas strut which is the v3.0 or clubman set anyway. But good call. The group buy set won't work with a clubman.

Dartfork, maybe you could edit your post to clarify that you don't have the same hinges from the group buy.

Twocupsofbutter, I haven't fitted my set. What troubles are you having? I'm curious if others are having problems.

Unless you've bought the brand new (I have been sent a development set) Clubman specific hinges, it's no wonder you're struggling - the group buy ones are for round nose cars.
