I'm telling you Mike, was that a deal for that car or what?  Apparently its been for sale for a while and the lower price was the deal breaker.  Heck, it had me hooked!

I would love your old Land Rover.  Thats a nice truck!  Theres one selling around here for over $20k.  Its rediculous and not in any spectacular shape.  Unfortunatley i'm sticking with the makes and models of cars i'm used to.  I should have never bought the Mini Mover when I did because i just dont have the room for it.  And thats what prompted me to sell the CE and that darn Mart jumped all over it!

fishingka, sadly I recieved an e-mail from Hugh this morning saying it was sold last night.  He probably just hasnt been on the board yet today.  When I first saw it I e-mailed Hugh asking to float him the money through Paypal, he doesnt like Paypal, for obvious reasons and asked me to call him.  By the time I got back from work and read the e-mail asking to call him it was about 12:00am EST and alittle too late to call.  I was about to call in the am when I saw another e-mail from Hugh apologizing and letting me know the little beauty was sold.  My loss is someone elses gain.  I completely forgot about some cash I had stashed aside for a rainy day.  No biggy, other deals will come along!

It's not showing up sold in the sales section http://www.minimania.com/web/id/6535/Cars4Sale_Detail.cfm. Authimini, you may still have a chance.

          Thanks

    James,

So Hugh has this Woody sold already? Wow - that was fast.  But a running/driving car for this kind of money, even if a little rough around the edges, is a pretty fair deal indeed.

James: >>> I think you need to invest in a classic Land Rover ;-)

I saw your old CE @ MME and Mart has it looking real nice.

Dont feel so bad Mikey, I tried to jump on this deal of the century but due to my crappy work hours I missed getting in direct contact with Hugh and he sold that little beauty to some other lucky mini owner.

Now its back to the search for another clubby estate!

Hugh, when I told wifey about your ad, she said, "was that the one we saw @ MME"?

(which impressed me that she remembered the car)

I said, "yeah". She said: "I told you, I won't drive a standard"

I told her: "It's an automatic"

She said "Whack to the side of my head", then, "why didn't you make him an offer then, when we were standing right beside it?"

    Me:" DOH !"

She said: "That would look good in pink !, but that awful wood has to go"

It's been a while since I looked it up, but from memory I am pretty sure the wagon/van/PU versions are 11" longer with a 7" difference in wheelbase.

Rachael...I believe the LWB cars are 10" longer over all with a 6" longer wheel base than saloons

I was thinking about this vehicle when I trying to go to sleep last night, I would love to have it but no storage space! But just out of curiosity do you know how much longer the wagon is compared to the regular Mini?

I think that this will be a great Mini for someone, how about the automatic? I know I steered away from autos when I was looking because I heard parts are hard to find and they can be hard to keep going. Is this true? It sounds like yours does just fine so I wonder if it may be in the owner rather than the mechanicals?

I so wish you could just drive this up to Cincy and leave it in my driveway, I could always claim ignorance to my husband at that point. "I really don't know where this came from....really!"

The subframe is slightly wider to accomodate the automatic, so you can make thin spacers to take it out to standard width.  I know this because we had a car with the spacers in there.

Mike, as much as I would like the Land Rover, I need to sell the wagon to finish up some stuff here.  This car was Tina's, but she never really got "into" Minis like I hoped she would.  I bought her a cherry (project) Gremlin (like she always wanted) and now it is ready to get finished.  The bodyshop is nearly ready for it to be picked up, and my interior guy (my brother) needs some material for the interior.  So much to do, so little money, especially since the sign industry seems to be running full slow.  BTW, for those that asked, here is a photo of the front carpet that was temporarily out of the wagon when the above photo was taken.

Interior is all original, and in good shape.  I don't have any current photos, but could take some.  Here is a photo of the interior during the engine swap, but with the carpet removed.

Compared to the "Why has this not sold" car, this is a super bargain.

Did I see this @ MME?  I looked for you, but didn't see anyone drinking Dr. Pepper nearby.

I would trade you straight across for my 61 Land Rover Series II 88", which I am asking $5k for, if you could deliver it to my place in S. New Brunswick, and then you could trailer the Rover home.

Just reduced the price to rock bottom.  Need to sell to finish a couple of other projects.  Delivery may be possible for cheap.  You probably won't ever find another fairly original wagon for sale at this price that runs and drives.  I will be heading to TX in the next couple of days...can I bring it to you while I am on my way?
