It is really easy to tell them apart, look at where they bolt to the manifold. HS2 has two bolt holes, one straight above the other on centre. HS4 has two and they are set diagonally, one each side of centre. Also look at the number of screws holding the piston chamber. HS2 has two screws HS4 has three screws.

The 1989 Mini 998 came with an HS4. The HS2 was for the 850 engine. If at all possible get an HS4 without the waxstat.

Measure the throat, if it's 1 1/4" it's a HS2, if it's 1 1/2" it's a HS4. If you don't have one yet, go with the HS4 of HIF38.

I have a 1989 Austin Mini with a 998 motor I know that the Carburettor is a single but Idk if its a HS2 or HS4 they both look alike. Anyone know which one i need to buy?
