I have a Sept '61 Austin Seven Countryman Woody (inside tank) in original Speedwell Blue, with Spanish Blue & grey fleck interior.

I spent two years and about £2K in the late 1980s, restoring body and mechanicals, the only thing I didn't do myself was the crank grind.

Its original and unmolested apart from twin leading shoe brakes, inertia reel seat belts front and back and a lammy windscreen.

Mrs Wonderful has used it as her daily driver for 20 years and, all in all, it has been supremely reliable over the last 60K miles.

There is ALWAYS room for a mini in the carpark at the shops.

A friend of mine who is a master cabinet maker and millworker is making wood kits for Mini estates.  He has been working on his patterns and mockups, and the first set should be finished soon and will come to my house for test fitting on the 67 estate.  Email me if you need his details.  Also, I have a few bits from a wagon if you are interested.  I have the front and rear seats, and also have a couple of the chrome handles/ends of the rear glass that the little locks flip up into.  Unfortunately, they are "handed, and are both for the same side.  Do not remember which side without looking, but are both for the same side.

My stock Morris 850. Needs a ton of work but work is underway.

That wasn't my question.  From the way the light hits it (looking closer I see that it is not cut) it appears to only have one side to it and a short bit on the other side.  Guess I need to look closer next time.

Hugh, when it was installed it was installed backwards, it has since been fixed back to the way it should be

HU Shack, is the door handle on the rear door broken, cut, or was it made that way?  Never seen one like that, so curiosity set in.  As for woody estates, I recently sold my 67 to my brother who is redo-ing it now.

1965 Woody with later dash/seats/engine/subby and steering collumn. I wish it was more original but a great driver as is.

I'll break your pattern, with a blue 998 A+ stage one Traveller.  Mine does have a couple of unoriginal parts.  Homebrew window surround indicates someone didn't feel like replacing the wood, although the holes are still there, bondoed over.  It also bears the stigma of Porsche 944 front bucket seats, Metro Turbo 8.4" vented rotors on the front, spacers on the rear, and most importantly, an American Express card for a hood ornament.

My name Is Grant and I am from Sydney Australia , I am reasonably new to this forum and am impressed by the people and cars that I have seen and read about, in particular I have seen a fair few Woodies and they look pretty good . so my question is how many Countrymen , Travellers and Estates are on this forum? If you reply to this can you put up some pictures and a brief description that would be great.

 Mine is a January 1964 Austin Mini Countryman Tartan Red, It has retained 95% of its original wood and I have had the car for 11yrs. We are just finishing putting in a new engine this weekend, the last one only lasted 3yrs and 9000mls due to someone whose engines 'never fail' . the new one will be 1293, 997 cooper cam, cooper s box, single 1.5 inch S.U. on a heated manifold , maniflow LCB extractors which needed some work to make them fit ( the flanges are not flat and require a lot of filing ) 10.3:1 compression ,stock head with oversize valves and double valve springs. should go really well we hope! It also has cooper s brakes and Hi -Lo suspension with KYB shock absorbers. The wheels are Aussie special contessas 10x5 with the offset so I don't have to run flares, and I recently had Dunlop formula R tyres fitted . We are never afraid to drive it because the paint is 22yrs old and a little faded in places and another chip won't matter.
