O K, the petrol cap arrived in the mail-Thank you Brad-

It looks brand new (NOS)- I was concerned about the overall diameter of the cap, not much clearance against the wood at the top-In fact about 1/32 nd of an inch clearance-

So, now  it is , 100% original, with everything installed-

Now, to look for the exact build date-

Thanks all-

BIG AL

I presume you have checked the wiper motor or is that the 1% that is not original Al ?

I have seen date codes on the newer cars on switches not sure if it was the same on MK 1's, maybe the dip switch if it is still on the floor.

Still trying to pin down the exact build date of my newly acquired 1961 internal tank, Austin Seven Countryman woody Estate - Getting good help from Rick(mini estate) , Charrison and of course Helen & Ian in the UK-- But, did the estate have a date stamped anywhere on it when it left the factory as the saloons did on the boot latch  ???

Mine is 99% original and will be 100% when that elusive petrol cap arrives-A little scary with a rag stuffed in the filler neck, just waiting for some punk kid to "flip his BIC" and you can then take 1 Woody Estate off the REGISTRY

Been working on the seats lately, fronts done, the rear seat is next. Original MK1 covers, new foam, rubber bladders on bottoms, the backs were in good shape. Made them stiffer than normal, and added a bit of Lumbar support.

The 'he/she/they' MiniEstate refers to is us!!!  We are Helen & Ian, we're British but live in the Netherlands and have a collection of different Mini's including this 1968 Morris Mini Traveller:

We took over the Mini Traveller and Countryman Register last October, so if you own a Woody or a Tinny, then we would be pleased to hear from you.

If you are not sure if your car is already on the Register, then please register it again anyway via our website www.MiniTravellerAndCountrymanRegister.org - we can always check to make sure!

I emailed you the link and posted it on the other message. On the search, click on "advanced", set the age for 365 days, the main thing is to check the box for "search body".

 I searched for "how many".

Whoever sent me this link, Thank You! I'd still like to know how you go about finding an older post that is no longer listed though. I couldn't remember the exact topic name to do a 'Search'. I thought it was something like, "How Many Countryman/Traveller Owners on this Forum?" I was close, but the search engine came up blank with my idea?              Mini Estate

You may have noticed a new format on the Countryman/Traveller Registry. Actually Bill & Ian are no longer managing this site. Bill decided to pursue a external tank only registry, in keeping with the 'Early Mini Forum' theme. Both Bill and Ian did a superb job, and we can't help but be grateful to them for their amazing contributions in creating a dedicated site for the Mini Countryman and Travellers! I felt extremely honored to at one point be offered the chance to take over their original MKI/MKII Mini Countryman and Traveller Registry, but had neither the time or resources for such a worthy pursuit. I did make many contributions, that was the least (and most) that I could do. It does appear that the torch has now been passed, and what a beautiful job he/she/they are doing!!! Thank you for taking on such a noble cause! The Mini 'Tinnies' and 'Woodies' do deserve to have their own site. They are some of the most beautiful and highly sought after early Mini's to be sure. The Mini Countryman and Mini Travellers have come into their own. All hail the Mini Wagon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!     Mini Estate

Hmm I guess I am a member of this club temporarily... Mk2 steel sided estate shell I got from the Smurfinator, once I get the floor braced up enough and a bunch of the little bits done on it.. and win the lottery It's going to become a pickup though... Mmmm Mini Pickups.

Is that a stock early MK1 gas cap and if so could I bother you to send me pics of the front and back?

Cool

Hi Guys , I CAN'T BELIEVE that this thread is still going keep up the good work , it is sometime since I last logged in as you may have read some time ago I sold my woody to a mate of mine , it has not been lost unlike the other 14 minis that I have owned since 1974, he has had the interior redone and it looks fabulous in fact we are using it and 4 other minis for my daughters wedding in about 3 weeks time .

Hey the Woody thread is back. I picked up another one recently. I now have 4 in various states of disrepair. This one came disassembled but complete for the most part.
