    The single row timing chain was the first one used in all the small bore motors. In the original applications it had a life expectancy that more than meet the demands of the average driver. If motor still uses this system you should absolutely never work on the engine without replacing this inexpensive part. Late model 1275cc A+ engines also use this chain but have an advanced mechical tensioner system.
