NO MORE H2O PUMP REPLACEMENTS Years ago I observed a barrel full of filters at a truck maintenance shop and asked about them. I was told they were Water Filters being removed from fleet diesel trucks. Since the removal included the mounting bracket, I asked it I could have one and was told to take as many as I wanted! Well I put one on my old truck and within a couple of weeks all the rust was gone from the coolant. It was clear but green, like a coke bottle. Shortly there after my heater quit working --- the filter was in series with its heater hose from the engine. When I removed the filter it was packed full of rusty crud. I screwed on a new filter and drove it for 5 years before it developed a pinhole leak, at the top of where it was packed with rusty crud. The last filter is still on this truck and it still has its original radiator and water pump! I have religiously installed water filters on all of my other vehicles including my Midget and AH Sprite since that time with no water pump or coolant system failures in all those decades. If memory serves me the filter has a WIX 24071 P/N and the mounting bracket is a very close 240?? P/N
