Kit includes 2 hubs. For the ultimate in reliability, converting to a steel hub (stock is cast iron) and adding another wheel bearing is the answer. Made from 4140 Chrome Moly Heat Treated steel, the double bearing adds better support for wide tires and adds to the support of the axle, greatly decreasing the chance of breaking even a stock axle. It is universally agreed that a double bearing rear hub is necessary on any racing Sprite or Midget. But not all are created equally. Our bearing hubs have been improved in that they feature a narrow circlip to locate the seal. This eliminates the frequent problem of the seal backing out causing an oil leak. Complete kit includes hubs, bearings, seals, circlips and o-rings to replace both rear hubs. For replacement bearings see XLS-1 3/4, 6207SNR - for seal see CR17707.

Question:
Are there any modifications required to the vehicle axle case or brake area to fit these hubs, and if there are fitting instructions?
Answer:
You do need to remove the raised section of the brake backplates to fit the these hubs. The raised section is where the backplates are bolted to the axle housing.

Remove the slinger flange from the backing plate. The flange is held on by spot welds and can easily be removed with a cold chisel. Replace the hex headed bolts with the round headed pieces and new nuts mentioned above. Turn the upper return spring so as to give maximum clearance to the new hubs.
