Question:
What size line and what fittings are on this line? My 68 Sprite had 1/4" line when I got it (obviously not original) with an adapter on the master to go from the standard thread 3/8 fitting on the master to a 7/16-20 odd fitting that needs a doubble flare on the line, with the same 7/16-20 fitting on the slave end without an adapter. Without adapters my new master and slave appear to be 3/8 standard thread at the master and 7/16-20 at the slave. I'm guessing it should be a 3/16 line with the small fitting at the master and the odd thread, larger fitting at the slave - at least that is what seems to needed for the new ones that I have. I'm also guessing that the flare on the line should be a bubble flare, not the more common double flare. It's been fun trying to sort this out.
Answer:
There should be an adapter at the clutch master cylinder (21K8564), then a 7/16-UNF male nut on the pipe to another 7/16-UNF male nut to the hose that goes into the slave cylinder. Both of the flares for the rigid pipe appear to be the same and they're definitely NOT bubble flares. Take at this link to the flare types.
The adapter to the clutch master is 3/8-unf on the clutch master end. I'm not sure what the other end of the clutch HOSE is, but I'm assuming it's the same as this adapter as it goes into the slave cylinder.
