Correct, Dan, it is to the left of the clutch pedal. I bought a bag of brass bullet connectors and the correct bullet crimper tool, made an extension cable. There is a little space above the pedal assembly to run the cable over to the hole under the center of the binnacle.

IF the dim/dip switch is to the left of the steering column (and to the left of the clutch pedal?) in both cases, it would be closer to the centre of the RHD car and the wires would run down from the centre of the dash. In a LHD car, the wires would have to get past the pedal box, which would be a longer path.
Right??
Right??

The relationship of the dim/dip switch on the floor to the steering column is the same on a LHD car as it is on a RHD car. Why would the wires be longer?

early RHD dip switch had wires going from the dip switch in the center of the floor up to the dash wiring harness behind the gauge cluster. LHD dip switch was in the left footwell corner so the wires had to be longer; how were these wires routed? I have a dim memory of wires stayine under the dash, going above or through the pedal box. Is that correct?
