Often overlooked for better night vision is a truly clean windshield, that's not etched from 60 years of use.

I also agree about the aiming correctly.  I am approaching 40 and still have uncorrected 20/20 vision.  I do love the whiteness/blueness of LEDs though.  (Ricer alert, oh well)  This is where I am going to sound really mean though.  If you need to see further than good low beams provide, please stop driving at night!

6464 since my car is running again I can take some night time photos on a dark road and email them to you if you like.  You can see what I see and decide before buying for yourself.  I would post here, but I haven't found a way to post from my phone.

Yes it does.  I have ones with braided heat sink.  Like I said, I don't know why the product changed on the Amazon page but I found and ordered them with braided heat sink.  A few weeks later the product/photo was changed to what is listed now.

I wonder if all the braided heatsink wires and the braided wiring harness with connector and the back of the bulb will fit in the headlamp bucket.

No, mine were these linked below.  Within a couple weeks of me purchasing and installing the lights I went to do a review and they changed the picture of the light for sale to the one shown now.  I don't know why.

The bulbs with braided heat sink are the style I have.  I had a set with the fans on another car and one fan got blocked and burnt up an LED first day out.  The braided heat sink I have in the Mini have been in since September 2016 and still work great except for the lack of proper light cast.

I can't imagine the H4s giving you dim yellow light, unless you are using some cheapo ebay junk. The Quadoptic H4s sold by our host on a relay (and take the time to aim them correctly) should give you as much bright white light as you could possibly want. I put them on my car many years ago and have never had any issues.

Whatever you fit just make sure they are adjusted correctly please, those of us blessed with normal eye sight don't need more "bright" just those stupic white/blue lights to not be pointed at oncoming traffic...................................

Mini's are like buses they come along in a bunch

maybe a high output altenator would help the standard lights, and a cataract operation.

Here's a pic comparing the LED light on the left to the standard incandescent on the right:

I replaced my headlights with the plug and play 7" LED lights. They made a HUGE difference in how far I can see with the car at night. I ordered them from Vintage Car LED

I have not tried the 7" projector LED housing like you are talking about...  Yet.  The best I can find are the JW Speaker 8700, but they cost around $300.  I bought the quad optic headlights with the 55/60W bulbs and put a set of H4 LED in.  Color is the nice white you want, but light throw isn't great.  LED replacement bulbs don't cover all the edges like a normal halogen or HID so you don't get complete light throw.  I got around it by adding a knock-off set of DOT legal Harley Davidson passing lights.  They are 4.5" and have the brightness and fill I wanted.  Harley wanted around $240 for the lights, I found mine on Amazon for around $60 but I also had to buy housing for them adding another $50 or so to the cost.  And of course, I had to design a bracket to fit them on the car.  Probably more work than it was worth rather than just sticking with the 55/60W halogens and adding some Wipac fogs.

Long story short, the Daymaker style 7" lights are on my list for some point in time.  But not right now.  Just doing replacement H4 LED bulbs will almost certainly not give you what you want.

Any knowledge would be helpful.  I'm looking at a company called headlight experts. It has the hi and low beam led bulb .   Thanks Jim
I don't think they do what you want. I did the LED experiment with GE Nighthawks they end up "whiter" or "bluer" but don't really make the road any lighter/brighter. I went back to Quadoptic H4 60/55w bulbs they look better than the LEDs and are half the $$$
