I didn't know Robin very well like some of you here, but I did know him.
After being here on the board only a short time, I went to MME in Magog,QC and I travelled there w/o a Mini.

Big Al, kind soul that he is, (and he barely knew me) set me loose with a baby poo green Clubman (auto, iirc) and
off I went all alone on night one near the ice-cream parlour if I remember correctly. First time I have EVER driven a Mini.

The next day, Robin and I did the scavenger hunt drive together and I got to drive MURPH the Mk I Mini from (Gibraltar?) for a little bit off and on (that thing was a rocket!)

Hrach and I got into a good conversation about "languages" at a later MME, while standing in line at the buffet.

The kindness shown to me by numerous people on the board either remotely or in person,(both still with us, or now past) is always remembered with great fondness.

I too, really liked the story Steve.  I agree......there's something about those little cars and the vast majority of people who drive them!

I read a little story about minis and the people we meet. I have a hard time recalling when I didn't know Robin Jones, NJ and several more. I got a text this week from someone needing help setting up a early down pull choke single HS 2 SU. I imagine not everyone has one or has even seen one. I reached up pulled down my Moke manual. Printed in the upper corner of the cover 7/18/13 Robin Jones. I have a library at the shop and one at home. The funny part is no matter what I told Robin I was interested in car wise a book often rare and out of print would show up. We would always visit when he was at Bush Gardens Williamsburg.

Robin having shared his love of all things mini will continue to touch others. It is hard to explain what happens when a person first sees a mini. Some look, say cute and go on others are never the same again. I think it still happens, I know I get passed by people everyday holding their phone out the window. Lots of thumbs up, big smiles and waves yes we are still doing our job. May our brothers rest in peace know we will go on. Steve (CTR)
