As another side note.  The Holiday Inn where the event was hosted will not exist next year.  The current plan is more shopping and 2 hotels in its place.  Oh joy more shopping...

And there is your example of when you put on a Mini Meet in a bad area of town. One thing that is hard to find when doing Mini events is a hotel that is large enough to take between 100 and 200 Guests.

Malcolm

Except in Colorado Springs at the mm East/west, 1999 meet

We were staying at the host hotel, Worst western, and on the last night after the banquet, low life thieves broke into my truck and took around $11kworth of clothes, tools, equipment and mini momentous

It took police 2 hours to show up, police report for insurance claims etc

The officer told me that we were in a crime filled neighbourhood and what Did we expect The street we were parked on beside the hotel lot dead-ended at the inter state and people were living under there, every morning we went across the street for breakfast at Denny's,we had to run the gauntlet past homeless people and their dogs

And on that street, 2-3 guys with trailers from the meet were camping Out and never heard a thing Nothing was recovered

And l always thought Colorado Springs was a great City

Live and learn

Just by the hotel security afaik. I have never heard of an issue with Mini's parked overnight at the MME or any other Mini event for that matter, the hotels chosen are usually in a good area of town.

I hope it does not upset you when I say I wish Robin was here to hang out with, drive the Mokes around, and just hang out.  I got the Moke.. brought it over your house and shortly thereafter he passed away.. still upsets me.

Can I ask one more question..  at MME, what happens to all the cars over night. are they guarded?

Also out of curiosity, is this shell a contender to be shipped over here?  This whole CBP thing has certainly gotten out of hand, hasn't it?

Congratulations Jim, I am just as proud of your car as you are.
The article was ok, seems to be written by someone who hasn't seen much else but a V8 there entire lives.

Jim - Your Moke looks great!  Too bad you couldn't bring it to the Columbus MME show. Maybe next year's MME - in Kingston, NY.

There is a lot of surface rust and the subframe that is pictured well enough has definitely seen better days.  My initial reaction is it is probably as bad as "Barb" was.  Only a few holes to let the crisp air and road dirt in.  You remember what "Binky" looked like?  So yeah it will probably buff out.
