 18 and 20

Parcel on right side if the diagram is oriented on paper the same as in the car.

They are standard equpt on early cars.

One toggle switch turns on BOTH these lights.

The other toggle switches the speedo instrument lights.  IE you can turn off the inst. lights if you park the car with side & tail lamps on.

Car engines make CO2 and trees absorb CO2. By running your engine you're feeding a tree and helping the environment.

Interesting: This is first I have heard of parcel shelf lights. Might they have been an after-market add-on?

Question of the day.....
I just finished fixing my speedometer (odometer wasn't working) and when I came to reconnect everything into the center binnacle, It didn't work the way I remembered it.

My very early 850 (1960) has a toggle switch either side of the center binnacle, just above two plastic lenses. I thought that each switch controlled one parcel shelf light but the only diagram I can find which has these lamps show one of the toggle switches controls the instrument lights (fed by the lighting switch) and the other controls both parcel lights.

Can someone confirm this is actually correct and if so, which side controls the parcel shelf lights?

Incidentally, the odometer fix involved spraying the odometer components liberally with choke cleaner which not only cleaned the numbers up a treat, but also freed the cylinders. I then lubricated with light machine oil. My only error was accidentally running the speedometer backwards using my drill which reset the numbers to 0 miles....
