From my research the DR2 appears to be the early motors. Interestingly after looking at the arms and wipers I noticed the arms are straight and the wipers have a small wheel (8mm) that allow them to adjust for left or right. So I adjusted for rhd and parked them in the correct position and they work fine.

My '67 Traveller has I think the original wiper motor and I imported it from England. It is a DR3A and parks on the left. My '64 Countryman was originally LHD (now RHD) and has it's original wiper motor, DR3A and parks on the left. My '71 Cooper 'S', '73 Mini and '80 Moke all RHD all park on the left. Simon Wheatcroft of the MCR says that Mini Lucas wiper motors have 75541 on them.

If it is the date stamp on later Mini's it usually reads with a space in between like  10  59. If so it would be the 10th week of 1959 for the manufacture date. The DR2 may be the model number others more familiar with MK I's may know more.

If in doubt, flat out . Colin Mc Rae MBE 1968-2007.

Wiper motor is. Was just looking at my single speed wiper motor and was trying to determine year of build. I found the following DR2 1059. Am I correct that this is from 1959?

Yes, in front of the driver. Park to the left in LHD and to the right in RHD.

Later, when the arm holes were off center instead of centered, the blades parked in front of the passenger.

Chuck,
On a MK 1 LHD car, are the wiper arms supposed to park left?  per your post above?

No difference (as long as it's not a Moke!).

The wiper arms were different so that the wipers would park in front of the driver.
