Under $8k for a running electric Moke sounds like a deal.

If in doubt, flat out . Colin Mc Rae MBE 1968-2007.

@rottenmulemeat  I am not sure if this is appropriate but would it be possible to get a PDF copy of the receipt that you found?  I would like a copy as my Mini is an S and it is just fun info to have.

Thank you in advance.

wolfman, no panels ever replaced on the 67 Moke and none need replacing, cleanest used un-restored Moke I've seen.

One re-spray during the 50 yrs. It has been used, many scratches on the body, and surface rust under the drivers floor.

$2,844 in 1965 is approximately $21,700 in today's money, adjusted for inflation.

Add about $10,000 worth of regulation required crash protection & emission reduction, and also the necessary "life style" upgrades (power seats, fancier controls, etc. etc.), plus some rust protection(!) and that price starts to be right around what a BMW Mini costs today!

Awesome that you've still got the motor.

I found the original sales receipt of 1965 Mini Cooper 1275 S, dated Dec. 11 1964 from:

Falvey Imported Cars
22600 Woodward Ave.
Detroit Michigan

Base price           2,465.00
Heater                     55.00
Extra gas tank          48.00
Wheel Rims              11.00
Oil Cooler                 40.00
Anti-freeze                 2.55
Side view mirror         6.00
2 Shoulder belts        60.00

Tax                          109.26
Title                            3.00
Total                   $  2,843.81

Car is long gone, rusted away in 1970, Michigan winter salted roads did a job on it.
I saved the motor and just had Mini Mania do a complete rebuild including the transmission.
