Pressure test the cooling system with the engine warm and look for drips, especially around the thermostat housing!

That is the location where the power steering assembly including the reservoir is located.  The color of the fluid also points to the power steering fluid.

See this link for a photo of the ps reservoir.  Check to see if it is 'oily' at the bottom of the reservoir where the two hoses go straight down to the ps pump.  Also check the ps pump for an oily mess - a good indicator that you have a leak.

It is the original coolant, car only has 13,200 miles on it. It is a cream puff perfect condition except for this one small leak.

Thanks for the feedback.

2005? I would suspect that your not looking at the original factory coolant or at least I would hope not! The colour is not important it could have been changed to something else at any time in 11 years...........

And I ****ed up it's the thermostat housing you should be looking at not the water pump! not sure how I got that wrong.........
It's on the left hand side of the engine (right hand side as you look under the bonnet)

Oh and it's a right bugger to change..................

Some coolants can feel "soapy" -slippery but washable. They also taste sweet and are poisonous, especially to animals and small children.

Do you or anyone else know the color of the coolant that comes stock from the factory?

Where is the water pump on the engine of a 2005 Cooper S? Which end of the engine, I can not see it.

If it can be washed off with just cold water then it's not oil based so my first guess would be coolant. but again have you not topped off any fluids in two years? if your topping off something off every couple of weeks there's your answer. My first check for coolant leaks would be the water pump housing a known problem with the MINI as they crack at the seam line.....

What area under the car does the fluid puddle?  front of the engine, under the engine, behind the engine, right, left or center?

This is the color of the liquid

It feels greasy, but, washes off hands easily with just water no residue, where did it come from?

Do you have a link to the power steering repair under warranty?

Definitely check your power steering.  I had to replaced my lines on my 02' R53 a few years ago and just last week MINI replaced my power steering unit and fan under warranty!

It is most probably the power steering fluid. The electric/hydraulic systems these days use a green fluid about half of the viscosity of the automatic transmission fluid. Pentosin is the most known brand, but I also carry one for Mini's, Jeeps, Mercedes, etc. Also used in suspension systems and folding roofs.
