I did see a current post from Mad Matt on the Mk1 board. He was letting everyone know he had lost his father. Steve (CTR)

They would be totally pointless on a Mini.
The only advantage is being able to use a Weber manifold.

Got the Berlen newsletter today and the DU series are being reintroduced, along with a wholy new 1½" version.

They are called DU6 and were used on the Coventry Climax FPF F1 engines in 58 and some sportscar engines as well.

I know where Matt got that photo from.

I'll take a guess Matt are they from a 3.8 or 4.2 Jaguar or a Rover 3.5 V8 used for racing maybe as there are only two of them, looks like they have the large dashpots that were fitted on the 2 inch HD ? SU's.

don`t worry, not everyone knows everything

& besides, there actually were twin SU`s that were made "stuck together"

so, you`re excused for thinking the way you have :-)

un-bolt the twins from the manifold & you end up with 2x "single" carbs,,,simple
