What is a Core Charge?

The automotive industry for years has used a term called "Core Charge" or "Core Deposit".

While it is an industry standard of sorts if you are new to buying auto parts it could cause heartburn if have never heard of it before & many times you will get upset to find out that you have to pay more for a part then its actual listed price.

Core Charges are typically applied to products that have some content that is actually re-manufactured. A re-manufactured part by a reputable company can typically save the buyer a tremendous amount. While some parts are completely re-manufactured, other simply provide a few key parts to the new assembly. The “core” or old part that you are replacing can contribute to your cost saving and save a little of the environment by not filling the local scrap yard.

Here’s how the Core Charge works:

  • The part you are purchasing contains a component that is rebuildable
  • The Core Charge deposit is charged at the time of purchase
  • Returned item is inspected
  • When the recyclable component from your old part is returned to us, the charge is refunded to you.

Please see our return policy for more information before returning an item.
